To meet the needs of a 21st century learner, our curriculum has been designed with a problem-solving focus. This allows children to utilize knowledge from all subject content areas in order to fully explore the current curriculum theme. Excitement for learning and an enthusiasm for the school experience are fostered through the dynamic theme-based and activity-centered environment found at Cedar Crest Academy. Each child is given the opportunity to experience success while being guided through a well-balanced program of individual projects, small group activities, and large group interactions.
ABOUT OUR PROGRAM
For families who are looking for something more than the traditional early childhood education experience.
Our program is designed to provide premier accelerated educational, emotional, and social foundations for children.
Our curriculum is centered on thematic units in order to make learning exciting and to fully engage our young learners in a variety of ways.
Children move from one discovery-based classroom to another, allowing them the opportunity to explore each lesson tangibly and thoroughly.
For Young Preschool through Pre-Kindergarten, we provide a cot and small blanket for them to sleep with. This time ranges from one to two hours depending on grade level and is designed to allow children to rest their bodies and reenergize for the remainder of their day.
Research-based curriculums are used to create a solid foundation for our young learners. Handwriting Without Tears, Imagine It!, Frog Street Press, Bridges in Mathematics, and Singapore Math make up the core of our curriculum. Cedar Crest Press has been developed to ensure individualized curriculum and integration of thematic units for all children.
Discovery-based classrooms vary by campus, but may include: Library and Computer Lab; Music and Movement; Science and Sensory; Cafeteria and Art Studio; Building and Construction; Imagination and Drama; Nature and Environments; and Geography and Culture.
Enrichment classes are intended to enhance our core curriculum and provide our Pre-primary students with a balanced and well-rounded education. Classes are selected and assigned to the grades by the school. Past enrichment classes have included foreign language, health and fitness, music, and drama.
Unique and Fun After School Specialists. After school, we provide the opportunity for students to enroll in unique after-school specialists. These include, but are not limited to, Chess for Life, Happy Feet Soccer, Bricks4Kids, and Woodworking.

What parents are saying about Cedar Crest Academy
We feel part of the Cedar Crest Family. We are seeing our child striving in various areas that we did not expect.
The teachers did a good job of providing learning opportunities that were interesting for my child. This included giving him work that was appropriately challenging for his level of development.
Cedar Crest is a great place when it comes to the balance of academics, social and emotional development and character building. No other preschool that we know of has this kind of amazing balance! We love it!
Set up for success
Providing both of our children the educational and developmental foundation at Cedar Crest Academy was the best thing we’ve done to set them up for further success in their school careers. Thank you CCA!
